A Raleigh sign shop, not a distributor

North State Signs & Printing has been producing custom signage and printing in Raleigh since 2015. We work out of a shop at 553 Pylon Drive, Suite D, where the printing, cutting, finishing, and most installation work is done by our own crew rather than brokered out to a third party.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A large share of the sign industry online is resellers who forward your file to whichever vendor is cheapest that week. When you call us, you reach someone who can walk to the press and look at your job.

What we produce in house

Wide-format printing and contour cutting on vinyl, corrugated plastic, and rigid substrates. That covers yard signs and job site signage, vehicle graphics and fleet decals, banners and retractable stands, step and repeat backdrops, window and wall graphics, trade show displays, ADA and interior wayfinding signage, real estate frames and panels, and campaign signage.

For vehicle graphics and wraps we print on 3M and Avery Dennison vinyl films with matched protective laminates. For rigid work we fabricate in acrylic, aluminum, steel, and PVC.

Turnaround

Most sign types are produced same day or next day once artwork is approved. Pull-up and retractable banners and trade show displays generally take three to four business days. If you have a hard deadline, tell us up front and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.

Who we work with

We are an active registered vendor with the State of North Carolina eVP system and NC eProcurement, and an approved vendor for the City of Raleigh, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We are a regular supplier to the Raleigh Convention Center, and we produce signage for Wake County and Durham County public schools, private academies in Cary and Morrisville, and community colleges in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough.

Alongside that institutional work, most of our week is ordinary commercial jobs: contractors, property managers, real estate agents, restaurants, churches, and small businesses across the Triangle.

Our crew

Cyrus Gill owns and operates the business. Chance Hall is our Store Manager and is usually the person who picks up the phone. Al Brown is our Lead Installer and Wrap Specialist and handles vehicle and large-format installation work.

Where we work

We proudly serve Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Chapel Hill, Garner, Wake Forest, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Hillsborough, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, and Research Triangle Park. Local pickup is available at the Pylon Drive shop, and many products ship nationwide to the lower 48 states.
